Nomads BU13 Win Dallas Cup

Attention: Parents, Staff, Chaperones, Nomads and Sponsors,

Fernando and I thank you for all of your support in making DALLAS CUP 2011 an unforgettable experience for the boys.  Our team did not only win the tournament but earned the respect of individuals such as the tournament staff, hotel staff, restaurant workers, other team coaches, scouts from different places and just random people we would meet.  They all behaved the best way possible and represented their families, the team and Nomads very well.  Fernando and I are extremely proud of all our boys and cannot wait for the PAINT-BALL celebration!!!

The schedule we had included breakfast, study time, rest-in-bed time, lunch, game, shower, rest, dinner and meetings at the end of each day.  All of these happened while Chano, Temo, Debra and Manny worked on the hardest part of this trip.  They somehow managed to get the laundry done, go shopping each day for snacks, lunch, dinner, medicines, set up and clean up after each meal and making sure that our boys were always drinking water.  We truly appreciate their help.

A very special thank you for the sponsors that helped some our players accomplish this trip, without individuals and companies like yours some of my boys would just be left behind.  We truly appreciate your help and thank you in a big way.

We should all very proud of our boys.

                Thanks for your support.

P.S….  I HAVE FOUND THESE SITES WHICH WOULD GIVE A CLOSER PRESPECTIVE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP…

 Tuesday, April 19th

No Game.  Boys took the opportunity to relax and rehabilitate on Tuesday.  The team was treated to a quick tour of the Pizza Hut Park Stadium home of the MLS Team FC Dallas.  We had some great photo opportunities down on the field and one shot with poster with Nomads Alumni and FC Dallas player Eric Avila in the background.  Later in the evening we ate pasta and meatballs and finished off the night celebrating Alan’s Birthiday!

Wednesday, April 20th
Game # 3: Nomads vs. Texans, TX
Score: 1 - 0

Goal: Gersom Galindo
In true Dallas form the weather took a turn today, cold and drizzle.  Much different than the previous two days.  The boys dominated in the first half, Joe Gallardo and Jonathan Leal pressuring the goal in the first ten minutes, hitting the post twice and a nice free-kick.  Alexis Velela had a great shot which also hit the post.  Alan Castillo came back into game three after mssing game two with a knee injury.

We went up one zero in first half with a goal from Gersom Galindo, assisted by forward Jonathan Leal.  The score remained one zero into half time.  In the second half we maintained the lead while creating many chances but did not put them away.  The game became very physically demanding but they managed to maintain the lead and the game ended one zero.

Dallas Cup 2011

Game # 2
Nomads vs. TFC Royal, TX
Score: 2 - 0

Goals:

Conditions were a challenge for game two! It was very warm and windy.  The boys started well dominating the field.  The first goal came in the 12th minute, goal scored by Joe Gallardo.  The boys continued to pressure the goal and missed a few chances.  In 23rd minute Jonathan Leal crossed the ball and forward Raymond Soro tapped it into the net past the defender and keeper.

In the second half we were against the wind and the boys became tired but managed to create some great chances.  Daniel Alvarez had a great one on one chance with the keeper but did not put it away.

Final result Nomads 2 TFC 0.
