Corona made his first appearance in the 2010 Clausura season and was the first player coming from youth teams to score a goal with the Pro Team on September 2010. He started his career with the Nomads from San Diego, California, following the example of Marcelo Balboa, Frankie Hejduk and Steve Cherundolo, all from the United States men’s national soccer team. The Nomads have been represented in every USMNT roster since 1990.

This 24-year-old Cal State-Fullerton product logged 57 total games with Philadelphia. Despite playing most of his college career as a midfielder, he was converted to left back after the Union traded Jordan Harvey during the 2011 season.

Michael Farfan is normally a quiet guy when talking to reporters. But the look of excitement on his face was pretty evident on Wednesday night. After all, the 24-year-old had just played in his first ever MLS All-Star Game. “It was exciting. It’s something that we dream of as kids, to play against the European champions,” said Farfan. “It’s an amazing feeling" Not to mention, Farfan swapped spots with David Beckham in a 74th-minute substitution.

Michael Farfan (Nomads Alumni) never dreamed his first trip to England would be a business trip. But that’s precisely how things worked out for the Philadelphia Union midfielder, who voyaged across the Atlantic Ocean last month to embark on a two-week training stint with the English Premier League side Sunderland.
